Lily's Latest Quotables

Lily is starting to say some really random things that help keep the day a little more interesting. I figured I better start writing them down so we can use them as ammo later. She's always a lot of fun.

1. We signed up to clean the church and Lily was pretty excited, but when we got there no one was there to tell us what to do and I told Lily that as we were leaving and she said, “Well, mom, I’m here and I’ll tell you what to do.”
2. Lily was sitting in the back of the car and she was chewing on Marah’s shoe. I kept telling her to stop it and finally after the third warning she said, “but, mom, I’m hungry!"
3. The other day as we were sitting at the table, out of the blue, Lily just said, “Mom, I have so many boyfriends.” She said it very matter of factly.
4. A while back she also said, “I can’t wait to be big so I can go on dates.” I think I will lock her up most of her teenage life.
5. Lily always has to “help” me clean the bathroom. She started to clean the bathtub when I heard her say, “This sponge will cut through sticky, stubborn stains even baked on messes!” Is that a sign she is watching too much t.v.? I’ve never even noticed cleaning commercials on her cartoons.
6. I was watching a trauma E.R. show on T.V. and playing a game with Lily. She was noticing all of the hurt people and finally she said, “Mom, why don’t you jump in there and help them?” When I asked her how I was suppose to do that, she swung her arms and said, “You got to do a super jump!” It was funny but it also made me happy that in her mind I should be able to jump in the T.V. and help those hurt people. I'm always kind of hard on myself when it comes to work, especially working in the E.R., but that one little comment really made me feel good and helped boost my confidence. Love you Lily!!

24th of July

We had a lot of fun celebrating the 24th this year. It didn't take long for Marah to get into the whole candy thing. Of course she was shoving them in her mouth faster then she was getting them in the bag.

The park was a lot of fun just hangin out on the grass and seeing all the people. I spent most of the time waiting in lines but there was a lot of good food and it was worth it. The highlight of the day is always the fireworks. It's tradition to get as close as we can and then we are always covered in ash by the end. I always love the fireworks here. This small town holds it's own. This was Marah's first experience with them. She watched them but I don't know if she liked them. Lily had a lot of fun with the fireworks. I just found myself thinking about how much I love living in this small town atmosphere. We were able to just walk to everything, the crowds are pretty much all people you know, and I know we would have never made front row at the fireworks anywhere but here since we're always running late. It's just a great place to be!

NO BOYS ALLOWED!!

The mother/daughter campout was last night. My mom, Sydney, Lily, Marah, and I all went. Lily had a lot of fun with the idea of 'no boys allowed'. She kept naming all the boys she knew and how they couldn't come, including 'Sam'. I had such good ambition. I took our little tent and my girls and I were going to share our double sleeping bag and sleep out. I was actually excited for it, but my mom was there and she doesn't do camping anymore without the camper, so we ended up whimping out with her as well, but I had a lot of fun just hangin' out with the girls.

At the talent show, Marah was cuddling and making friends with all of the strangers sitting by us. Would she cuddle with her mom? Not a chance!

The pathway up to the new ampitheatre is lined with these awesome posts that light up and have the young women and boyscout values on them.

This is Lily and some of the other kids trying to encourage poor Martha to keep trying on her long forgotten accordian. She did great and she was hilarious to watch. She is one of my favorite people. Love you Martha!

You guessed it! That is Lily centerstage, shakin' her booty! People were bustin' up. To make matters worse, she had slipped in the mud earlier and was then wearing huge cut off pants, tied up with a rope, and she had to keep hiking them up as she was dancing. The first time she did this was pretty funny, but then the next act was a little shy girl trying to sing for everyone when my unruley child jumps back up on the stage and begins dancing circles around this poor child. I was at the top of the crowd and had to run down through all these people and practically tackle her off the stage, all the time trying to hide my face. Needless to say, I was mortified. Poor Lily just wanted to dance.

Marah was just having fun watching it all and in style.

Finally, Lily was suppose to be on the stage, and me, well I was forced. As this video shows, my talent is definetely not dancing, but the miamaid class and it's advisors were asked to help the middle back person with the talent she was turned in for, which was dancing. She didn't want to do it alone, but she is really good if you watch her. Lily did her scream and rock on pose at the end of the dance. Lily made quite the name for herself. People kept telling me she needs to be in some sort of dance classes, since she seems to love the stage so much. The whole thing was a lot of fun and I'm glad I had an adventure just with us girls.

This is how we rough it these days. All the kids watching movies in the camper. All in all it was a pretty good camping trip other then a stomach bug that got Marah and me.

4th of July!!

I got a little bored on the 4th. I had to work so we really didn't do much. I decided to have some fun with the girls and take patriotic pics.

we didn't have a float to decorate, so lily figured she had to decorate something.

you know those pantene commercials where their hair is always unbelievalby smooth and shiney? well, lily's hair looked extra shiney and smooth and i felt like she should be in some baby shampoo commercial. plus, i never get pictures of her hair when it's down and i wanted to document the length. we even just cut about 4in. off about a month ago. it was down to her bum!

we are having a hard time with the thumb thing again.
