This is for you Dad!

So I know I haven't posted in here for over 2 years now but I thought I'd give it another try all for dad.  I post some things on facebook but I can't seem to get him on there and I really wanted to post this recent event in my life because it is the most awesome thing EVER!  We have been working so hard and are so busy and I have no idea if I'll post again anytime soon but we'll see and here is what we've been up to.....

Here is my jail... I mean old kitchen.  I even took pictures right after a simple lunch to show the misery and lack of space.

The windows are boarded up because we used them in the addition, so I've been staring at particle board for the last 6 or so months.

Here is our squishy eating area.  Lily and Marah have to either wait til Sam and I get up or climb under the table to get up and it is really too squishy for adults to sit at it at all.  So fun!

This is a view from the dining room looking at the back wall to our old kitchen and it's a bout to come down.

Addi just sat in her chair for hours just watching her daddy destroy her house.  She was mesmerized.  I don't think she could figure out what was going on.

Here is looking into our new great and spacious kitchen and dining room.  It's hard to explain but the hardwood floors are covered because we have to finish laying the hardwood in the old part before we can finish them.  Everything will have to be moved out again when we are ready to do the floors.  So the kitchen is just set temporarily.  The cabinets aren't finished and we are just using temporary counters and we aren't hanging all the upper cabinets that will be in the way of sanding the floors.  Some people may think it's crazy to set it and then move it all but I think it is a way better option then some sort of make shift kitchen and doing my dishes in the bathtub, plus I've been in my own little heaven the last week even with it not finished.  I guess the biggest downfall to using the new part temporarily like this is that we're a little too comfortable and are going to have less motivation to hurry and get it done.  I'm a little concerned about that but I am enjoying life way too much right now to care about the downfalls to how we are going about all this  I can't put in to words how awesome I feel about all this.  It's partly because of all the extra room and it's also because of how hard we've all worked and how much we have sacrificed for this.  My visiting teachers came over today and one of them just said it perfectly.  First of all they were just oohing and awing and just making me feel so happy about all my excitement and all we've accomplished, when the cute little grandma, who is kinda quiet and  you wouldn't expect her to say this but she said excitedely, 'it's like you've been let out of jail!'  I just busted up laughing and couldn't believe how perfectly put that was and, I think, exactly how I feel!  I feel like I can breath!  My kitchen is actually a place where I want to hang out now and where I might actually enjoy cooking and the kids can help cook more easily now.  I've been waiting for this for 7 years and I am glad for that wait because it really makes everything that much more amazing and appreciated now.

Here is the view from our living room to the dining room and kitchen.  Kinda hard to tell.

View from the garage door.

Looking out my kitchen window.

This is the view from the dining room back to the living room.  I know the picture is crappy.  I did a little video to help get a better feel for how it all is.

Sweet Baby Tux

Gabe was finally blessed and I'm finally posting pictures. My mom got him quite an awesome little white tux. It's kinda her thing to get blessing outfits for her grandkids. I've never been excited about what they have for boys to wear but when she showed me this, I was in love, and boy, did my man look good in that tux. I put this first picture up cuz it kinda shows the coat tails. Does not get cuter than that. Thanks so much mom! The blessing was a great day. I enjoyed so much being with family and just having a day for my new baby boy.

This next picture was inspired by the member of the bishopric who stood above the circle and held the microphone for Sam while he blessed his son. Afterwards he came to me and told me what a treat it was to watch our handsom son from up above just smiling at all the important men in his life lifting him up and blessing him. We ofcourse 'posed' this picture later with 3 of the most important priesthood holders in his life, his Grandpa, his uncle, and his Daddy. I will be forever grateful his has these men in his life.

This picture is kinda special to me. You can't tell but the picture behind him on the bookshelf is a baby picture of his Mommy. I need to take it again and have the picture of me a little more in focus.

Christmas Season

We had a pretty fabulous and busy December. Here are some of my favorite moments from the wonderful month of December. Sorry about the stupid spacing that I can't seem to fix. Oh well.
This picture of Marah and Gabe is just so precious. She sure loves her brother. This month Syd started junior high b-ball. I LOVED being the big sister going to watch my little sis. I can tell she is going to be quite the star player.

She was almost always the first to be on the ground fighting for the ball. Definitely a scrappy little player. If you read this Syd, that is actually a good thing :)

....and that is her with major 'hops'! She is one of the shortest but is the highest jumper. She is a pretty perfect rebounder actually. Awesome job Syd! Can't wait for next season.

I thought this picture of Sam handing Gabe to Santa was very touching. Back when Lily was a baby, the 3 of us were part of the christmas program as Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. There was a part where Joseph (Sam) hands Jesus (Lily) over to Santa as the greatest gift of Christmas, so there was a lot of meaning to me with this picture.

Sam is such a good sport and was a life saver when it came to putting together gifts for neighbors and friends.

This picture was actually taken at Tenlee's blessing, it really was a favorite moment though. Cody was my best bud groing up and I loved seeing him care so much about our little Gabe.

I went and found all these second hand flowers, took them apart, and had the girls help make lots, and lots of hair bows for friends and family. Lily absolutely loved putting them together. She has a very creative mind and I loved a lot of the bows she came up with. They both had fun delivering them to their friends.

Gabe got to meet his new buddy Casen on Christmas Eve. It sure looks like Casen is wondering what in the world is wrong with that baby!

I don't think Gabe was very happy that his stocking was full of diapers. Although, you'd think he'd appreciate it since he always seems to love a good diaper change.

I love how Marah is always sticking out her tongue, especially when she is concentrating.

Sam had an awesome Christmas morning hair do.

Lily got our old camera and a printer as her main present. She is a little mini me now and I love it!!

We went out to Grandma's for the second phase of Christmas, which I think was bigger then the first phase we had at our house. Grandma and Grandpa truly love their kids and grandkids. We are spoiled but very appreciative. This next picture was a favorite moment of Whits appearing to enjoy bubbles a little too much, if that's even possible. Love you Whits!!

Sam got to open Gabe's first set of tools. Such a great idea Grandma! I tell ya, having a boy never gets old. I can not get enough of the little boy outfits with cars, footballs, puppies, that are blue, brown, orange, yellow and now he gets tools! It all just makes me so happy and so excited to have our little man.

I put this picture in because Lily picked out rubber duckies for her cousin Kaelin. She remembered how much he liked playing with hers one day and that is why she got them for him. I just loved her thoughtfulness. She must get it from her dad, cuz he is always good at those kind of thoughtful gifts. This next picture is of the gift from Justin and Sarah to my parents and is the gift that won best gift of the year. You know, the one that brings tears to everyones eyes. Way to go guys. Sarah took the picture of all the grandkids infront of my dad's little mine and Justin made the gorgeous frame. Absolutely awesome!

This last one is of Jeremy with his Wi Fi seeking hat. So fitting!!
