Christmas Season

We had a pretty fabulous and busy December. Here are some of my favorite moments from the wonderful month of December. Sorry about the stupid spacing that I can't seem to fix. Oh well.
This picture of Marah and Gabe is just so precious. She sure loves her brother. This month Syd started junior high b-ball. I LOVED being the big sister going to watch my little sis. I can tell she is going to be quite the star player.

She was almost always the first to be on the ground fighting for the ball. Definitely a scrappy little player. If you read this Syd, that is actually a good thing :)


....and that is her with major 'hops'! She is one of the shortest but is the highest jumper. She is a pretty perfect rebounder actually. Awesome job Syd! Can't wait for next season.


I thought this picture of Sam handing Gabe to Santa was very touching. Back when Lily was a baby, the 3 of us were part of the christmas program as Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. There was a part where Joseph (Sam) hands Jesus (Lily) over to Santa as the greatest gift of Christmas, so there was a lot of meaning to me with this picture.


Sam is such a good sport and was a life saver when it came to putting together gifts for neighbors and friends.


This picture was actually taken at Tenlee's blessing, it really was a favorite moment though. Cody was my best bud groing up and I loved seeing him care so much about our little Gabe.


I went and found all these second hand flowers, took them apart, and had the girls help make lots, and lots of hair bows for friends and family. Lily absolutely loved putting them together. She has a very creative mind and I loved a lot of the bows she came up with. They both had fun delivering them to their friends.



Gabe got to meet his new buddy Casen on Christmas Eve. It sure looks like Casen is wondering what in the world is wrong with that baby!





I don't think Gabe was very happy that his stocking was full of diapers. Although, you'd think he'd appreciate it since he always seems to love a good diaper change.







I love how Marah is always sticking out her tongue, especially when she is concentrating.



Sam had an awesome Christmas morning hair do.



Lily got our old camera and a printer as her main present. She is a little mini me now and I love it!!





We went out to Grandma's for the second phase of Christmas, which I think was bigger then the first phase we had at our house. Grandma and Grandpa truly love their kids and grandkids. We are spoiled but very appreciative. This next picture was a favorite moment of Whits appearing to enjoy bubbles a little too much, if that's even possible. Love you Whits!!







Sam got to open Gabe's first set of tools. Such a great idea Grandma! I tell ya, having a boy never gets old. I can not get enough of the little boy outfits with cars, footballs, puppies, that are blue, brown, orange, yellow and now he gets tools! It all just makes me so happy and so excited to have our little man.



I put this picture in because Lily picked out rubber duckies for her cousin Kaelin. She remembered how much he liked playing with hers one day and that is why she got them for him. I just loved her thoughtfulness. She must get it from her dad, cuz he is always good at those kind of thoughtful gifts. This next picture is of the gift from Justin and Sarah to my parents and is the gift that won best gift of the year. You know, the one that brings tears to everyones eyes. Way to go guys. Sarah took the picture of all the grandkids infront of my dad's little mine and Justin made the gorgeous frame. Absolutely awesome!

















This last one is of Jeremy with his Wi Fi seeking hat. So fitting!!

one big catch up

I kinda fell off the blogging band wagon back when i got pregnant and have had hard time getting back into the whole thing, so this is one big catch up, mostly for you dad. It's a slideshow that includes about 6 or 7 months, so it's a little long. I thought the slide show would be the easiest way to post a bunch of pics and videos to show what we've been up to. It's kinda long a cheesy but it is what it is. Hopefully i'll be able to stay caught up on blogging now. I also put one big catch up on the photography blog as well if anyone is interested. Baby Makes Five!!

Introducing new baby Gabe!!!

He was born November 7 at 11:53 a.m. He was 21 inches and a whopping 8#4oz. The first thing I noticed when I looked over at him was his awesome chubby cheeks. He has darling blondish/brown wavy hair and looks exactly like his dad. I just knew he was going to be a mini Sam. We are all so in love with this little man. I wanted every day to fly by waiting for him to come, now I just wish time could stand still.

The delivery went really well and Sam was so wonderful through it all. Both Sam and I were up a little early that morning because Lily woke up throwing up and having diarrhea. We sat out with her taking turns empting her bowl and sitting with her when she had to run to the bathroom. Sam was in the bathroom with her when my water suddenly broke. Lily was so cute. Even though she was miserable, when I told her we were going to have baby Gabe that day, she immediatly lit up and was all smiles. We hurried to the hospital this time just incase he wanted to be as quick as Marah. I know the nurses didn't want to deliver another baby of mine. It took a couple hours for me to start having real contractions. I was still nervous it would go quick once the contractions started so I wanted to wait on the epidural. I didn't want them to be in the middle of putting one in and have to stop to deliver the baby. I was only 2 cm. but the doc was nervous about my history of going fast and decided to come up. By the time he got there, the contractions were becoming more serious but not too bad. He checked me at 11:00 and i was 4cm. I said I wanted to try walking a little to see if they got worse, get checked again and then decide on the epidural. I got up for about 20 minutes and they definitely got worse immediately. I decided they needed to get the dr. for the check and then get the epidural started. It was 11:40 when he checked me again and I was 6cm. We all knew an epidural was out of the question. As soon as he left to go get scrubs on the contractions got a whole lot worse. Needless to say, I wasn't the quietest in the world so he must have heard me and six minutes later he comes running back in the room, shoes not even tied and checked me. I was complete and the baby was coming. The next 7 minutes seemed like an eternity. Marah was nothing compared to this chunk. He was born at 11:53 and life has just been better ever since. He just loves his daddy and the girls cannot get enough of him. Marah just looked like she was in heaven everytime she held him in the hospital. Our little family of five is incredibly blessed.

I have two options for the video on here now. The one from vimeo you can play from the blog and the one from picasa you have to view on their website. It seems to be a little better quality in picasa and you can view it full screen if you want. I've had a few people say they couldn't view the original one, so hopefully with 2 options one will end up working.

So can you guess what it is?


This one is a cute one of his little 3D face. That's right, if you didn't guess on the first picture, it's a boy!!!! We could not be more thrilled and I can not wait to meet this little guy.

Somebody to Love!!

Dad is absolutely 'somebody to love' and he has lots of somebody's that he loves absolutely unconditionally. Thank you Dad for loving us all so very much! You always say that life wouldn't be worth much without all of us 'somebody's' and no one could possibly mistake what is most important to you and that is family. Also, thank you Dad for being my #1 blog fan. This tribute is for you even though I know you hate your picture taken and probably will hate even more that I put together over 40 of them of you. Hope you still love it :) I love you so much Dad!

The last few months in a nutshell :)

We got snowed in in January. Sam was away working during the biggest storm when our carport decided to cave in. Luckily I have good friends and neighbors to help dig me out. This was the view from our kitchen for quite some time.
That is our house barely peeking over the snow banks.

This was our neighbor's house from across the street. They got the snow off the roof but you then had to tunnel your way to the front door.
Marah got to be in cheer camp.

and she managed to completely embarrass her mother in front of the whole town. I guess she is multi tasking.
We went on our first camping trip in St. George. Getting away from the snow, was like giving us all new life.
My friends convinced me to go on my very first backpacking trip in Canyon Lands. I was a pretty big wimp, but I really loved the experience.
Now, for the biggest news and the real reason why I have been missing in action in the world of blogs for the last few months is.....
....for those of you who don't get it and think it is GPS coordinates like my family, that is actually a due date!!!! I sent my girls on a scavenger hunt and the last egg led them to an egg hiding in my shirt which then had the due date written on it. My wonderful sister Whitney started screaming since she figured it out first and then we bawled and hugged. I love you whits! We have been wanting this for quite some time and so we are extremely excited!

Grandpa the Great!

My dearest Grandpa passed away on February 10, 2010. He is one of the top greatest men I know and he has left an incredible legacy to follow. My little family decided to take the trip up to say good bye to Grandpa in the hospital. That Wednesday was truly a beautiful, spiritual, and tearful day. I was worried about the girls being there that day, but it turned out to be the most memorable experience I have ever had with them. I have never seen my very spirited girls be so calm and good for a very long 8 hours. These beautiful innocent children brought the Spirit so strong to that small hospital room. They were so content to just sit and hold Grandpa's warm and strong hands. Even though Grandpa was never awake during this time, I know he could feel their sweet little hands and hear their soft voices. Children were always Grandpa's favorites, especially in his last years. I to was so grateful to sit and hold his hand as we all sat around just remembering.

The funeral was the next Saturday and absolutely everyone made it except for one cousing who is on his mission. The Aunt's and Uncle's set up these tables just full of incredible pictures and objects from Grandpa's life. It was an amazing dispaly of so many things Grandpa loved and accomplished. First of all, he has to be the most handsome military man I have ever seen.

Grandpa was very famous for his Christmas chocolates. You were very lucky and very loved if you were on his list to receive a box each year.

Grandpa loved Photography!! He did their family pictures each year for Christmas and would even develop them in his own make shift dark room in their home. I wish so badly that I could have picked his brain and learned from him before the dementia. My new love for photography has really made me feel a new connection to him. I think of him when I get really discouraged and want to quit and just the thought of him makes me want to keep on trying.
He was a pilot in WWII. These 2 pictures of him are just priceless.

This little book was full of his own hand written notes on how to do many different tricks in the planes he flew. That is such a treasure and I had no clue it existed. You can almost see the instructions on how to do a 'Lazy 8' in this picture.
This picture was also on the tables. I absolutely need the original to this. Grandpa was my dad's #1 helper when building our log home and this is an absolute great shot of the 'boys' all workin' on the roof.
This was the grandkids arrangement. It had pictures of all 34 grandkids with Grandpa. The arrangement was put together by Lou's Petal Patch. Staci did an incredible job. Just click on the link to see her site and more arrangements she did for the funeral. Thank you so much Staci!
We had old rolled up newspapers put in the arrangement because Grandpa use to play quite an entertaining game called 'Bull'. He was the Bull and we were the poor grandkids trying not to get whacked with the newspapers. Grandpa was always so williing to play with all us crazy grandkids. The thing was, you could always tell that he completely loved playing with all of us.
Another arrangement that Staci did from the Senior Citizens. This was Grandpa's favorite cereal and they always made sure they had a box ready for him. Grandma really loved this one.

Grandpa is very handsome, but the women in his life are also very beautiful! These are the 3 most beautiful Grandma's I know. This is my Grandma and Grandpa's 2 sisters.
Witnessing a funeral with military honors is an experience I will always cherish. I was overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. It was emotional and very spiritual.
This last picture was taken by Cody and I am so grateful to him. I love taking pictures but am rarely in them. I will treasure this picture forever. Thank you Cody!
Farewell Grandpa. Even in your death you have strengthened me and encouraged me to be a better person, to work hard and to whistle while working hard, to have a peaceful nature, to love playing with the children, to learn and be whatever I want to learn or be, to always be happy and give a smile, to share with others what's most important to me, to create a close and eternal family, and to accomplish a great legacy! You have done all this and much more. Thank you, thank you for leading the way!
